Silver As An Anti-Bacterial

Scientists at Harvard University recently reported on the benefits of using silver along with antibiotics.  Specifically, they found that silver "boosted the efficacy of a wide range of antibiotics and helped them stop otherwise lethal infections in mice".  Silver also reduced stubborn infections that normally would have required multiple rounds of antibiotics to address.  From a safety perspective, the authors found that the dosage needed to enhance the antibiotics in the mice was far lower than the amount that would do any harm to the mice.  Considering the increasing antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria, the use of medicinal silver becomes increasingly important.
