Anti-Fungal Properties of Gymnema Sylvestre

Gymnema Sylvestre is a popular herb that has been shown to be helpful for blood sugar issues as this recent study reflects.  It improves glucose tolerance (lowers insulin resistance) and stimulates insulin secretion.  For that reason, it needs to be used with caution and under supervision for diabetics, especially those on medication.  Regardless, brand new research has shown that Gymnema is an effective anti-fungal, specifically against the extremely common yeast Candida Albicans (which is present in 80% of the population) as well as Aspergillus fungus.  The research was done at Kansas State University.
